Body Containers series #01 - 15, 2005 - 2025
Knitting shredded magazines / books / maps
Body Container is a series of wearable sculpture knitted from shredded maps and multilingual magazine pages. The work explores the visible and invisible boundaries that shape how we perceive bodies, land, and identity.
In this silence dance, Questioning the Line, the body becomes a container: for stories, histories, and languages - but also for transformation and reconnection. Each body container sculpture moves, breathes and enters into an improvised, non-verbal dialogue with nature. The stillness, dialogues are captures in a short film that blurs conceptual lines and reveal the common thread that weaves the human body with the land that give us life - a return to belonging, before the world was divided.
In a world increasingly shaped by division, dislocation, and ecological urgency, Body Containers invites viewers to reconsider the lines we draw: between self and other, body and landscape. It is a call to remember reconnection, and protect our shared home - the Earth.
βIn nature, there are no lines. Lines exist only in our mind.β
